"Granny's Gift," Feedback

"Granny's Gift," contains a story, characters, and events, that people have been able to relate to.  The story has been touching the emotions, while ministering to the hearts of its readers.

What shines through in the story is the love and redemption of God.   While some situations and events are true to life, the orchestration of those events to bring about good is evident, and reveals how God sometimes works in real lives.

Although a fiction, the redemptive quality of God's love and mercy shines through.

Thanks for reading.

Let Go and Let God

Each time I share a little bit of "Granny's Gift," I am amazed at what God reveals to me.  What I mean, is I wrote the book, and know what I wrote, but there are simple truths, that are hidden in the story line, and are  revealed as I share.  I don't quite understand this, but I think it's awesome.

As long as I hold on to things, God cannot accomplish His Purpose and Will, but when I place it into His hands, I am set free!  He knows the thoughts He thinks toward us.  He has a good plan and purpose for us, but it is letting go, that we can see His purpose!

"Granny's Gift" is available at http://www.dianelandrybooks.com/ or amazon.com, and other online bookstores, soon.

"Granny's Gift," What's Next?

"Granny's Gift," was birthed from an idea, as I was writing my own journey to healing, after an abusive and painful past.  The idea for the story came to me in the form of an outline, and then the storyline developed.

The next book in the series, which I am currently working on, was birthed after my husband, Scott, enjoyed the book so much, really wanted to find out what happened to the characters.  "Granny's Gift" was left open, in a sense.

The ministry opened up in "Granny's Gift," is the focus, along with a young man, named Justin.  The events that unfold in his life, are somewhat painful, but as he continues walking forward, he receives what he has always longed for, a loving family.

In this upcoming heartwarming story, I hope to illustrate, that situations are never hopeless.

"Granny's Gift," in Relation to me

Recently, I began sharing my testimony, and how the idea for my book, "Granny's Gift," came about.   There were many instances when I really thought my life was really hard, and it was.  It made no sense, sometimes.  I was abused, as a child, and then there was abuse in two of the most precious people in my life.  It was after their abuse, that I finally began on my own journey to healing.  Until then, I had neatly hidden it away pretending I was alright.  I really wasn't.  The emotions came bursting out, upon learning of their abuse.  My journey to healing was a long and painful one, but I can now truly say that, I am now complete in Christ.

In my book, Leslie made a choice to take time out of her career to care for her Granny, who had taken care of her.  In doing so, she received her own redemption, and lasting change in her own life.

Day after day, there are many events in our lives that shape where we find ourselves now, some are due to our decisions, and others because the decisions of others.  However, if we look carefully, we can see that somehow God is trying to speak to us, and to make us whole, in the process.

Although painful at the time, I can now look back and see, that God was going to great measures to bring redemption to me, in the same way, the fictitional character, Leslie, looked back and saw that through the events of her life, that God was trying to restore her, and to bring her back in the fold, going to great measure to do so.

"For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost. How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray? And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray. Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.
(Matthew 18:11-14 KJV)
